My Name is Michael Sidley and I am a candidate for Malibu City Council.
It is time to elect someone with the historical perspective and skill necessary to deal with the complex issues now facing our city.
I grew up in Malibu. I attended Malibu Park Junior High School (now Malibu High School) and graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1979. Following high school I completed my undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley.
I received my Juris Doctorate with Distinction in 1988 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. I have been a practicing attorney in Los Angeles for the past 22 years.
I returned to Malibu in 1997 where I have for the past 13 years lived with my wife, Wendy, and my two children, Jane, age 13 and Ally, age 11. Both of my kids attend Malibu High School where my wife, Wendy, is the PTSA President.
I have a strong and deep commitment to Malibu and what it represents. I am deeply concerned about Malibu’s future. We have complex issues facing us, which call for new well thought out creative solutions. Quality of Life for Malibu’s citizens is the primary responsibility of a member of the City Council, and that is where my priorities lie.
I am committed to stop the financial give aways that have plagued this City.
I am committed to making the view ordinance a reality. This is the only way to ensure that the beauty, which brought people to this wonderful community, is protected for all citizens.
We must protect the quality and opportunities provided by our public schools. I believe our excellent public schools deserve complete support from our city.
We must protect our environment. Everyone deserves a clean ocean. This calls for a shared responsibility, not just by the residents of Malibu but by all who enjoy what Malibu has to offer.
I am committed to finding a funding solution for the Septic Ban mandated by the Regional Water Quality Board.
I am the candidate who brings both a historical perspective and the skill necessary to lead us through these difficult times. Please support quality leadership and a positive voice for change. Vote Michael Sidley for City Council.
