Mike Sidley for Malibu City Council

About Mike Sidley

      I grew up in Malibu.  I attended Malibu Park Junior High School, now Malibu High School and graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1979.   I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1983 with a BA in Political Science.  In 1988 I received my Juris Doctor with Distinction, Order of the Coif  from the University of the Pacific. 

    I have been a practicing attorney in Los Angeles for over 20 years.

    For the past 12 years I have lived in Serra Retreat with my wife, Wendy who is the PTSA president of Malibu High School and my two daughters, Jane 13, and Ally 11, both students at Malibu High School. 

What is important to Mike 

1.  Passage of the view protection and restoration ordinance.

2. Find a solution to the septic ban which won't bankrupt our city. 

3.  Ensure the full and complete support from the city  to maintain the quality of our public schools. 

4.  Reduce the proliferation of Residential Drug Treatment Facilities in our Neighborhoods.

5. Ending  irresponsible financial giveaways.  

6. Taking proactive steps to ensure Malibu maintains local control of its city.
